Blind flange is a solid steel part without holes (inner diameter), which is mainly used to block pipelines. They are commonly used to test the flow of gas or liquid through pipes or vessels and applications in high-pressure pipes.
The three most common end-face connection forms of blind flanges are usually matched with related mating flanges. These include raised face, flat face or RTJ face seals. Raised face and flat face are usually used in medium and low pressure pipeline applications. RTJ is the first choice for high pressure pipeline applications. The standard height of blind flanges below 400# is 1/16″. The standard height of blind flanges below 400# is 1/4″.
